GoPokes TV: Basketball Recruiting Heats Up

One of the nation's top high school point guards is announcing where he will play on Wednesday, and Oklahoma State is one of his four finalists. Also, two of the Cowboys other top targets will be deciding soon. Terry Tush and Anna-Marie Ahrberg visit about Oklahoma State basketball recruiting and break it down in this GoPokes TV exclusive.

From The Coordinator: Yurcich Is Mr. Positive

Oklahoma State quarterback Daxx Garman is the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week but he has room to improve as he continues to shake off the rust of five seasons of game inactivity. Garman has been great on the deep ball, but he has work to do with the short and intermediate passing game.

GoPokes TV: Mike Gundy

Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy addresses a number of topics during Monday's news conference, including receiver Marcell Ateman's production in recent weeks, Iowa State's offense under the direction of Mark Mangino, and more.

GoPokes TV: Should OSU Be Scared Of ISU?

Robert Allen and Lauren Russell visit about Iowa State, which makes the trip to Stillwater on Saturday to face Oklahoma State with a 1-3 record. The Cyclones of head coach Paul Rhodes will arrive at Boone Pickens Stadium seeking their first conference win of the season after losses to Kansas State (32-28) and Baylor (49-28).

Analysis: Garman, Cowboys Getting Better

Just like I said on the video review right after the game, there was so much to this game that is really hard to analyze it completely. The 288 yards of penalties really skews it all. The game was never in a rhythm, at least one that was consistently favorable to either side. If it were a box it was five-sided. If it were a triangle it was isosceles.

Analysis: Cowboys Defense Has Guts

Honestly, I felt that the defense played okay in the win over Texas Tech. Now the numbers may say something different to most of you. Texas Tech had 506 total yards. The Red Raiders had 32 first downs, that’s right 32 first downs! There were only 112 rushing yards but 394 yards through the air, and there were four runs of 10 yards or more and at least 12 passes of 15 yards or more.

Cowboys Moving Up In Polls

For the first time this season, Oklahoma State is ranked in both of the major college football polls, moving up three places to No. 21 in the Associated Press poll and making its season debut at No. 23 in the USA Today Coaches rankings.

Increasing Depth Critical For Cowboys

The 48 hours that started around 3:30 Friday afternoon when the Oklahoma State coaching staff finished watching video of the 45-35 win over Texas Tech and the time when the coaches will greet the players and Rob Glass and his strength and conditioning staff will get the Cowboys back in the weight room for a workout on Sunday afternoon will be critical for this football team.

Which Recruits Saw OSU-Texas Tech?

Thursday night games - like Oklahoma State hosting Texas Tech at Boone Pickens Stadium this week - are great for exposure, but not necessarily good for hosting prospects at the game, certainly not during the high school regular season as most prospects either were preparing for games on Friday night or may have even had a Thursday night game.
