Scout College Football Top 30 Week Five

Who jumped to the top spot and how far did Florida State fall?

Analysis: Garman, Cowboys Getting Better

Just like I said on the video review right after the game, there was so much to this game that is really hard to analyze it completely. The 288 yards of penalties really skews it all. The game was never in a rhythm, at least one that was consistently favorable to either side. If it were a box it was five-sided. If it were a triangle it was isosceles.

Analysis: Cowboys Defense Has Guts

Honestly, I felt that the defense played okay in the win over Texas Tech. Now the numbers may say something different to most of you. Texas Tech had 506 total yards. The Red Raiders had 32 first downs, that’s right 32 first downs! There were only 112 rushing yards but 394 yards through the air, and there were four runs of 10 yards or more and at least 12 passes of 15 yards or more.

Increasing Depth Critical For Cowboys

The 48 hours that started around 3:30 Friday afternoon when the Oklahoma State coaching staff finished watching video of the 45-35 win over Texas Tech and the time when the coaches will greet the players and Rob Glass and his strength and conditioning staff will get the Cowboys back in the weight room for a workout on Sunday afternoon will be critical for this football team.

Which Recruits Saw OSU-Texas Tech?

Thursday night games - like Oklahoma State hosting Texas Tech at Boone Pickens Stadium this week - are great for exposure, but not necessarily good for hosting prospects at the game, certainly not during the high school regular season as most prospects either were preparing for games on Friday night or may have even had a Thursday night game.

McNeal Talks Visits, Season

ROCKWALL, Tex. -- Scout caught up with Mesquite (Texas) Poteet athlete DeAndre McNeal after his team's win over Rockwall (Texas) Heath on Thursday night. McNeal discusses his season, visit plans, and more...

GoPokes TV: Marcell Ateman

Marcell Ateman talks about why he was able to have a career night against Texas Tech. The sophomore from Dallas caught a career-best six catches for 130 yards in the Cowboys 45-35 victory over the Red Raiders at Boone Pickens Stadium on Thursday night.

GoPokes TV: Cowboys Freshmen Here To Stay

Robert Allen and Lauren Russell talk about the true freshmen that helped in Oklahoma State's 45-35 victory over Texas Tech on Thursday night, including receiver James Washington (two touchdown receptions) and cornerback Ramon Richards (an interception after taking over for injured starter Ashton Lampkin).

GoPokes TV: What Do We Know About OSU?

Robert Allen and Lauren Russell break down Oklahoma State's 45-35 victory over Texas Tech at Boone Pickens Stadium. What did we learn about the Cowboys? Do we know more than we did before Thursday night?

Cowboys Impress In Big 12 Opener

STILLWATER – Welcome to Big 12 football, Daxx Garman. And welcome to Big 12 football, James Washington. Oh, Ramon Richards, welcome to Big 12 football. The trio of Oklahoma State Cowboys were among several players making their conference debuts Thursday night on national television against Texas Tech at Boone Pickens Stadium. They responded well in the Cowboys 45-35 victory over the Red Raiders.

Maile Has Helped Tyler To A 3-1 Start

Oklahoma State commitment and current Tyler Junior College defensive lineman Motekiai Maile is still drawing attention, but it is not recruiting attention. The 6-3, 300-pound defensive lineman is playing end for the Apaches and he is getting plenty of attention in double teams and even some triple teams from opposing offensive linemen and tight ends.

OSU-Texas Tech Matchups & Predictions

It would appear that Oklahoma State did a good job in the open week working on weaknesses (like running the football) and improving on what they will need to be strong with during the second half of October, throughout November and into December. There are a couple of polish weeks ahead but this one came at the most opportune time to add, delete and sharpen the team overall.
