Walsh Sets Career Mark In Opener

J.W. Walsh led Denton Guyer to a 13-2 record and the Texas Class 4A state semifinals a year ago. But there were doubters entering the 2010 season as the Wildcats moved to the state's best competition in Class 5A. Walsh and his teammates showed what they were capable of doing Saturday as the Oklahoma State commitment threw for a career-best 340 yards and four touchdowns to defeat Waxahachie 45-7.

The 6-2, 200-pound Walsh was outstanding in completing 15 of 20 passes, although those statistics could have been much better if not for several dropped passes.
