Mike Leach

Former Texas Tech head coach Mike Leach is scheduled to arrive in Stillwater on Tuesday and stay several days to observe the installation of the Oklahoma State offense and give some thoughts and ideas, almost in the role of a consultant.

Leach, who was highly successful during his 10-year tenure, was unceremoniously let go as the Red Raiders head coach following a controversial exchange over the punishment of Texas Tech inside receiver and son of ESPN college football analyst Craig James, Adam James.

New OSU offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen played for Leach at Iowa Wesleyan and then coached for him at Texas Tech. Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy has always been cordial, even friendly, with Leach and the two used to sit together some at conference coaches meetings.

Look Out!
After the first week of spring practice senior starting linebacker Orie Lemon had his green jersey taken away and was comletely cleared to practice at full speed, with no limitations.

Lemon was very excited, but some of the offense players had to get very alert as to where number 41 was hanging out. Gundy gave Lemon credit after last week's scrimmage for tossing one of the offensive ballcarriers "out of the club." Basically, Lemon threw him about 10 yards bouncing on the turf.

"We look out for Orie because we know he is big and he is a real good football player and we know he can hit," said running back Travis Miller. "He is really explosive, so we know we have to stay aware of where a guy like that is."
