Recruiting: Muniz To Look At OSU

Archie Muniz is pretty excited about the playoffs. The 6-5 1/2, 255-pound offensive tackle at Houston Cypress Creek High School is ready for the postseason.
"We made the playoffs - district champs," said Muniz. "We play Leander on Friday, that is a team up in the Austin area. We finished 9-1, district champs."
That is the major focus for the standout offensive tackle that had 43 pancakes and graded an average of 84 percent as a junior and topped that this season grading out right at 90 percent with more than 50 pancakes.
This summer he committed to Utah but said he is keeping his options open.
"I've still been hearing from Oklahoma State and some from Colorado," said Muniz. "The coach (Joe Wickline) calls me and wants me to check it out.
"I am going to visit Oklahoma State for an official visit after the season. You see I committed to Utah, and I had been to Rice, Vanderbiilt, and Utah. I liked Utah the best. It was a big campus and I liked the mountains. I want to get into sports medicine and they have a big orthopedic and medical school there at Utah.
"Now when I first started hearing from Oklahoma State that was Big 12 and I thought, whoa," said Muniz. "I want to see it because I have heard about the campus and about the facilities. I know this, I don't want to stay in Texas."
In the meantime the playoffs will be the focus for Muniz and Cypress Creek, and then it looks like the Cowboys will get a look from another possible answer to their search for more offensive line prospects in the 2010 class of recruits.
