Recruiting: Ash Wants To Visit Oklahoma State

Richard Ash

Defensive tackle Richard Ash of Pahokee, Fla., is a 6-4, 270-pound speedster for an inside technique on defense. Ash said he is having a good season so far for the 4-1 Blue Devils at Pahokee High.

"I feel like we are playing good as a team and I think I'm doing good," said Ash on Monday night. "We are 4-1 and I know I have four sacks so far and one pass deflection. I don't know how many but I have a lot of tackles for loss."

Ash has already visited West Virginia with teammate Antonio Ford, who is scheduled to visit Oklahoma State this weekend. Ash said he is also looking at Minnesota, South Florida, USC, UCLA, and LSU.

"I was supposed to visit LSU last weekend for the Florida game but I didn't make it," said Ash. "I thought West Virginia was nice. I liked it a lot. The facilities were great and I really liked the weight room. I have heard Oklahoma State has a really nice facility. I also want to check out Oklahoma State because they have produced a lot of good D linemen."

To go with his current season stats, Ash had 84 tackles as a junior with 7 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, and an interception. He says he can squat 450 pounds. He also is carrying a 2.5 GPA and had a 16 on the ACT. He has work to do but does have a good shot.

"Leaving Florida is not a big deal to me," he added. "I have no problem leaving and going far away to school."
