Recruiting: Days Picks Up Two New Offers
Synjyn Days

One of my favorite young men to talk to among the recruiting prospects of 2010 is athlete Synjyn Days of Powder Springs (Hillgrove), Ga. Days called us Thursday afternoon to let us know that two new schools have joined Oklahoma State on his offer list.
"Yes sir, I have picked up two more offers," said Days. "Indiana and Toledo have both offered."
The 6-2, 205-pound Days is a speedster that runs the forty in sub 4.5 (clocked at 4.45). He is also being recruited by Alabama, North Carolina State, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Kansas State.
He plays quarterback at Hillgrove, while his brother, Jabari, plays on defense. North Carolina State is actually recruiting Days to play quarterback but most other schools see him in the secondary, or Oklahoma State likes him for the "star" linebacker position.
School has ended for Days and now he is set to do some traveling. He finished up strong in spring football and in the classroom.
"I had two A's and two B's," said Days proudly. "I finished up track so I could play spring football. I knew the (college) coaches were going to be coming through checking out players and I didn't want to miss any of that. In the spring game I threw three touchdown passes and I had eight tackles. My brother Jabari had 15 tackles in the game."
Days has talked about his younger yet bigger brother and he going to the same school. Our guess is that won't be a problem as Jabari appears to be a good prospect as well.
As for the summer traveling, that starts this weekend.
"I'm going to camps at Wake Forest and Virginia Tech," said Days. "Then next week I am going to Georgia Tech and to Oklahoma State. I will leave for Oklahoma State, I think a week from Sunday and I will be out there all week. Yes, I'm going to their prospect camp on June 14."
Days said when he gets back from Oklahoma State he will continue workouts and earn a little money this summer cutting lawns in his neighborhood.
Days started as a sophomore at the still very new high school (Hillgrove) and led them to an 8-2 record while leading the county in rushing with 1,500 yards and he also had another 800 yards passing. He was All-County and All-Region along with being second team All-State as a sophomore.
Last season, as a junior, he led Hillgrove into the second round of the playoffs and an 8-4 finish, and had more than 2,000 yards of total offense in earning first team All-State, All-County, and All-Region honors.
