Oklahoma State basketball fans will get a sneak preview Friday when two of head coach Travis Ford’s signees from this past November make the trip to Stillwater for the Eskimo Joe’s Shootout – a four-game high school basketball showcase – at Gallagher-Iba Arena.
OSU signees
Karron Johnson
and
Torin Walker
will join their respective high school teams to play games in the Shootout. The 6-foot-8 Johnson will join his Laurinburg Institute (N.C..) team as it faces Christian Life Center of Houston in one of the event’s four games, while 6-foot-10 Walker and his Northside High School squad from Columbus, Ga., will face God’s Academy from Dallas.
Johnson and Walker were two of six high school players to sign with the Cowboys during the November signing period, and will be freshmen on next season's OSU basketball squad.
“The support of Eskimo Joe’s and the Stillwater community have made it possible to hold this event,” tournament organizers said. “It promises to be an exciting night of basketball, showcasing some outstanding teams and future college basketball stars.”
In addition to Johnson and Walker, the event will feature many other college prospects, including 7-footer Roscoe Davis (Laurinburg Institute), 6-7 Latavious Williams (Christian Life Center), Marquette signee Junior Caudouga (Christian Life Center), and God’s Academy junior guard K.C. Ross-Miller, who is verbally committed to Kentucky.
Tickets for the four-game event are $15 (lower-level reserved chair back seating) and $10 (general admission), and will be available on game day starting at 4 p.m. at the Gallagher-Iba Arena ticket office in the east lobby.
