Recruiting 2010: Visiting With Johnny Deaton

There is a strong chance that next year's top football prospect in Oklahoma will be from a Class 6A school, but not traditional powerhouses Tulsa Union or Jenks. Charles Page H.S. in Sand Springs is on the rise, and a big reason for that is quarterback Johnny Deaton. The second team All-State quarterback from this season is already the subject of a lot of recruiting talk.

Deaton has been to several schools, including OU Junior Day on Saturday, but the scuttle and talk on Deaton is that the only junior nominee this year for Oklahoma's large school State Farm Mr. Football Award is close to or even "in the bag" as a commitment to Oklahoma State.
