Just a quick check in with Oklahoma State's future "real" Cowboy on the gridiron. Defensive back Daytawion Lowe of Midwest City (Carl Albert), Okla., has been committed to the Cowboys since October.
Remember, Lowe committed on his mother's birthday and had a cake and all to celebrate that he was staying close to home to attend college and play college football. Because of the Titans' deep run in the Class 5A playoffs Lowe did not make his official visit to OSU until this weekend.
"It went really good," said Lowe. "I liked it, everything about it. It was everything that I thought it would be."
Lowe said his hobby and interest of riding horses never came up this weekend.
"I know they know about it," he said. "Coach (Joe) DeForest and Coach (Mike) Gundy have brought it up with me before."
Lowe is a tremendous talent that in our (Go Pokes) estimation is severely underrated. He is rated high as one of the top players in the Midlands in Super Prep and is a Super Prep All-American. He was also named the Defensive Player of the Year by
The Daily Oklahoman.
Lowe had 127 tackles and despite opposing quarterbacks trying to stay away from him at all cost also had four interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. He also returned a fumble 60 yards for a touchdown in a playoff win over Bixby.
As a junior he had 116 tackles and three interceptions. He started as a sophomore and had 124 tackles that season. This past year on offense he had nearly 400 yards receiving and four touchdowns.
