Recruiting: Tracy Moore Picks OSU
Tracy Moore

Tracy Moore, the versatile athlete who is ranked as the nation’s 29th-best tight end prospect, said Sunday night that he would be joining Tulsa Union teammate at Oklahoma State. The 6-4, 225-pound Moore picked OSU over Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and Tulsa. He made the announcement on KTUL-Channel 8 in Tulsa because sportscaster Ruben Diaz at the ABC affiliate is a longtime family friend.
Moore had his little sister Page come on camera to open an envelope with his college choice written on a piece of paper. Diaz asked Page what it said, and she answered, "OSU."
"I chose OSU really because of the coaching staff is amazing," Moore said during the TV announcement. My cousin Brandon Webb (of Owasso) and (Union teammate) Jeremy Smith are playing (at Oklahoma State too). I have some amazing memories on that field (where he won the Class 6A state championship this season)."
The consensus All-State wide receiver also played running back some for the Class 6A state champions at Tulsa Union. In fact he came in and subbed for his good friend and Union All-State running back
Jeremy Smith
in the 6A championship game and had some important carries in keeping the ball and running out the clock in the win over rival Jenks.
At receiver, Moore had a school record 71 receptions for 1,023 yards and 15 touchdowns. In his career he had 130 catches and earlier this season in the regular season meeting with Jenks, the Backyard Bowl, he had 11 receptions for 150 yards in the Redskins’ win over the Trojans.
It is catching the ball and doing it out in the open that helped make his mind up on Oklahoma State.
“They told me that they were going to let me line up at wide receiver and slot and not just try to pin me down as a tight end,” said Moore, who made an unofficial visit to Stillwater on Saturday to watch the Cowboy basketball team's win over Texas A&M.
“It is also the facilities and everything about OSU. I am very comfortable there," Moore added.
Part of that comfort has to be the fact that his teammate and friend Smith will be at Oklahoma State, along with Owasso All-American offensive lineman
Brandon Webb
, Enid quarterback
Clint Chelf
and Carl Albert defensive back
Daytawion Lowe
. In fact, they are all visiting together next weekend.
“Yeah, and we were all up in Stillwater last night at the basketball game (Cowboys win over Texas A&M),” added Moore.
Moore also visited Colorado in December and said some of the rumors that he was going to commit to Colorado instead of OSU came courtesy of Union center Shaun Simon, who is going to Colorado.
