Continuing the Georgia theme of covering Oklahoma State in spring recruiting is linebacker Qua Huzzie of LaGrange, Ga. Huzzie is 5-11, 200 pounds with 4.65 speed and he packs a punch. Last season he collected 102 total tackles with 27 behind the line of scrimmage. He also picked off a pair of passes and returned one for a touchdown.
"Everything is going good and I'm getting offers from schools and plenty of opportunities," said Huzzie. "I looking at all of this as a great opportunity to go to college, play football, and get a quality education. I have offers from Kentucky, Ole Miss, Duke, South Carolina, Memphis, and Oklahoma State.
"I haven't heard much about Oklahoma State except I do know they have a great coaching staff that really helps the players with both the football and the academics," added Huzzie, who said he is being recruited by OSU defensive line coach Glenn Spencer.
Huzzie added that he really does want to go a distance from home and has a sensible reason.
"I want to go away to school, so I am not always tempted to be coming back," he said.
This past weekend Huzzie made an unofficial visit to the Kentucky spring game. "It was great and they had a great atmosphere," he said. "The crowd was really cheering for the players and I was blown away by the way the Kentucky offense and defense played. The fan support too."
Huzzie is also competing in track and combines speed and power there as he is on the 4X100 relay and also throws the shot put.
Huzzie said he hopes to get a chance to check out more schools including maybe a trip to Oklahoma State during the summer.
