STILLWATER - The best news is everyone made it back from spring break safe and sound and the Oklahoma State Cowboys were out on Tuesday afternoon on the warm pro turf surface at Boone Pickens Stadium for the seventh of their 15 allowed practices in the spring. Head coach Mike Gundy chose to use the first practice after the spring break as the third and final non-contact practice for the Cowboys.

The dress on Tuesday for the two-hour, 20-minute workout was helmets, practice jerseys, and shorts.

The emphasis in the practice was on correcting mistakes from the "thud" scrimmage held in the final practice before spring break back on March 14. The coaches also reviewed all the material that was installed in the first week of spring ball and introduced a few new items that will come into play over the next two and a half weeks as the team finishes out the second half of spring practice.

Gundy and many of the coaches went on vacations with their families during the break. Associate head coach Joe DeForest celebrated with family in his native Florida, and defensive coordinator Tim Beckman also visited family with his family in Florida.

Assistant head coach and running backs coach Curtis Luper saw his beloved L.A. Lakers play the Dallas Mavericks, and tight ends coach Doug Meacham and his family did some skiing. Offensive line coach Joe Wickline did took his family to enjoy some of the great outdoors in Oklahoma.

The pads will go back on Wednesday for the next practice and the week will conclude with a scrimmage on Friday that will be open to the public. The scrimmage will begin shortly after 3:30 p.m. and should take up most of the practice.

The team will practice Monday, Wednesday and Friday of next week with Friday, April 4, including another open scrimmage. The next week will include practices on April 7, April 9, and spring concludes with the annual Orange-White Game on Saturday, April 12, at 4 p.m. The game will be followed by a free concert featuring Keith Anderson in Gallagher-Iba Arena.
