Recruiting: Brandon Webb Has Three Offers

Brandon Webb

Offensive lineman Brandon Webb of Owasso, Okla., earned multiple All-State honors this season and is universally recognized as the top offensive line prospect in Oklahoma in the 2009 class. His bloodlines are excellent as his father was a 1975 All-American offensive guard at Oklahoma. Webb has already received scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Tulsa and Texas Tech.

The 6-4, 290-pound Webb attended several Cowboys games last season and was at their recent junior day on Feb. 2.

"I like Oklahoma State," said Webb, who is very early in the recruiting process. "I had fun there on junior day. I really like their coaching staff.

"I have also heard from most of the schools in the Big 12 Conference," he continued. "I have received mail from Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Kansas State, and Nebraska. I am thinking about going up to check out Nebraska."

Webb is very strong with a 350-pound bench press and a 500-pound max on the squat.

"I am thinking about going out for track, throwing the discus and the shot," said Webb when asked about other sports. "I used to play basketball and I was pretty good."

We have no problem believing that and also that there probably weren't a lot of opposing post players that eagerly ventured into the paint with Webb stationed there. You can see his foot work and seriously understand that he was pretty good on the basketball court. He moves really well.

Webb said he is considering psychology for his major in college. He also said that it is his parents that will serve as his major guide in choosing a school.

"Yes, it will be my parents that will help me," said Webb.
