Running back Dexter Pratt of Navasota, Texas, is one of the best in the country at his position among the prospects in the 2009 recruiting class. The 6-2, 225-pound back runs a 4.48 in the 40-yard dash. That is a freakish combination of size and speed. Last season it added up to 205 carries for 2,058 yards and 20 touchdowns. Pratt also had 366 yards receiving and another four touchdowns scored.

Pratt is strong too with a 260-pound bench press and a 450-pound max on the squat. So, who is at the top of the list of schools that have offered?

"I couldn't even tell you," said Pratt. "There have been so many schools that have ofered it is hard for me to keep track. LSU, Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma State are all schools that I'm interested in.

"Oklahoma State is a school I know a little more about because of Coach Fedora," continued Pratt when asked about his high school coach being the brother of former OSU offensive coordinator and now Southern Miss head coach Larry Fedora. "They (OSU) will get one of my five visits. I know that. They will be one of the five schools that I take an official visit to."

Right now Pratt is busy with basketball. A small forward for Navasota, Pratt and his teammates will open the playoffs on Tuesday night after getting a bye in the first round after finishing the regular season with a 20-2 record.

He has attended Texas junior day, but his schedule is tough with basketball playoffs, which could keep him from attending any more junior days soon including one this weekend at Oklahoma State. He is working on how he will go about making his decision in recruiting.

"It will come down to academics and what schools have to offer in that area and what kind of team they have and what kind of success they have had in the past," said Pratt. "Those are all things important to me and will be a part of my decision."
