Byron Eaton showed last week what Oklahoma State fans have been hoping to see all season from the point guard. The 5-foot-11 junior from Dallas was outstanding in leading the Cowboys to back-to-back wins last week, and was honored Monday as the Big 12 Conference's Player of the Week for his performance in those victories.

Eaton averaged 21.0 points in leading the Cowboys, now 13-12 overall and 4-7 in Big 12 play, to conference victories over Baylor (93-83) and Texas A&M (59-54).

Against Baylor inside Gallagher-Iba Arena on Wednesday night, he matched a career high with 25 points, and also contributed eight assists, five rebounds and three steals.

Eaton's controlled the tempo against the Aggies as Oklahoma State broke a 19-game road losing streak - which dated more than two years - and a 16-game Big 12 road losing skid. He finished with 17 points, including two big free throws late in the game, and five assists.

For the week, Eaton shot 61.1 percent from the field (11 of 18), including 4-of-5 from three-point range. He was 16 of 18 from the free-throw line (88.9 percent). In addition, he became the Cowboys' all-time leader in career steals in the win over Baylor, and he now has 175 during his three-year career.

It is the first time in his career that Eaton has been recognized as the Big 12 Player of the Week.
