Torre Johnson Dismissed From Team

STILLWATER, Okla. (http://www.okstate.com) — Torre Johnson, a junior on the Cowboy basketball team last season, has been dismissed from the squad, it was announced today by head coach Sean Sutton.

“Torre and I had a discussion last Thursday evening,” Sutton said. “I feel that it is in the best interests of both he and our program that we part ways. We appreciate the contributions he made to the team last year and we wish him well in his future endeavors.”

Johnson, a 6-6 forward who joined OSU last season after earning All-America honors at Garden City (Kan.) Community College, averaged 10.1 points (third on the team) and 4.2 rebounds while appearing in 30 of 33 games.

No other comments will be made on the matter.
