Recruiting: Glover Close To Committing?

Standout linebacker Jared Glover of Bixby, Okla., said earlier this week that he is close to making a decision after narrowing his choices down to three Big 12 schools – Oklahoma State, Colorado and Nebraska.

"Call me back in the next two weeks," said the 6-5, 220-pound linebacker/defensive end prospect. "I think I'll have a decision by then."

Glover, who just visited Colorado with his parents last week, narrowed the field to three after the visit to the CU campus. He has visited Nebraska on an unofficial, and he has made both an unofficial and attended a prospect camp at Oklahoma State.

He summarized his feelings on each school by saying he had followed all three and been a fan of their programs. He added the facilities improvement at Oklahoma State and the close proximity to Bixby is a factor, but the tradition of both Nebraska and Colorado are also something to consider. In other words, no hint as to which of the three might be the favorite.

Glover had 91 tackles and an incredible 21 sacks last season in helping Bixby to the Class 5A state championship game. His offer list includes the previously mentioned three finalists as well as Arkansas, Kansas State, Iowa State, Texas A&M and Texas Tech. He is constantly improving physically, but he can bench press 305 pounds, squat 480 pounds, and has a 32-inch vertical jump. Academically he is impressive with a 4.64 honor GPA and a 29 ACT score.
