STILLWATER – Keith Brumbaugh has reportedly left the Oklahoma State basketball team and has decided to move to Houston where he will work out with former NBA coach John Lucas in hopes of entering the NBA Draft, Greg Swaim said Saturday afternoon on the pregame radio show before the OSU-Colorado basketball game.
The 6-foot-8, 215-pound freshman was a member of the most heralded recruiting class in school history but never played for Cowboys. Brumbaugh was reportedly waiting to hear back from the NCAA regarding whether his eligibility would be restored.
Brumbaugh was named Florida’s Mr. Basketball after averaging 30.3 points, 12 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 3.6 steals his senior season. He was selected as a third-team All-American by Parade magazine, and was among the final 100 players considered for the McDonald’s All-American Game.
