Spring Football Notebook

Another walk-on getting plenty of reps and showing up is running back Raymond Taylor. The 5-7, 190-pounder transferred to Oklahoma State from Kansas State after playing at Wichita Collegiate High School. Taylor has run tough in both drills, especially inside drill, and shown up with some tough, hard runs in scrimmages.

"Raymond's doing good," head coach Mike Gundy said. "He's kind of emerged this spring as a guy that's made some plays for us. The team likes him. He runs with a lot of heart and puts a lot of effort into practice."

That is the kind of guy that will get Gundy's attention.

Future Quarterback and "Little" Brother Visit
Oklahoma State quarterback commitment John Kolar out of Norman North High School was at the Cowboys practice on Thursday. The 6-4 1/2 Kolar was standing next to his "little" brother during most of the practice.

Charlie Kolar is a freshman at Norman North who also plays football and basketball. The quotes around little is because Charlie is already 6-5 and pushing 6-6.

Both of the Kolars were joined at the practice by their mother, who is a professor in the OU Law School. Their father is the department head for Civil Engineering at the University of Oklahoma.

Kolar was the Cowboys first verbal commitment in the 2015 recruiting class.
