Two Others Planning To Walk On

Two Others Planning To Walk On

We've learned of some late additions to the list of premier walk-ons at Oklahoma State. It's actually one late addition and one confirmation. Andre Dowuona-Hammond had been interested in being a part of the Cowboys program for over a year but had Ivy League offers from Yale and Harvard. Like Dowuona-Hammond, Britton Abbott had shown interest in Oklahoma State for quite awhile.

Abbott's dad was a University of Tulsa standout at linebacker who also played with the New York Giants in the NFL. You can see Abbott's high school history below, and he turned down several scholarships to go to OSU. Honestly, I would predict Abbott to not only play but to end up maybe the first of this group to be on scholarship. I think he will be a big asset.

One recruiting source looked at the Cowboys walk-ons and how many turned down scholarships to walk-on at OSU and said, "Oklahoma State may have the best walk-on program in America."
