"The score was 0-0 when we arrived and so, yeah, we got to see the (95-yard) punt return (by Josh Stewart). I also got to see a lot of the recruits that I've been conversing with on Twitter for the past couple of months."
Rudolph said he was impressed with the game-day environment and he and his grandpa were able to see some of the facilities at halftime that they missed before the game. They also missed being on the field with the other prospects during pre-game warm-ups.
"After the game we got to see the locker room, the indoor facility, and the apartments, and those are fantastic. We had a chance to spend a little time with coach (Mike) Gundy and then coach (Mike) Yurcich."
Rudolph and his grandpa also got to see some of campus and all of the Homecoming decorations. "Yeah, those things with the chicken wire," confirmed Rudolph.
"We had been up since 3 a.m. so we went back to the hotel and got something to eat and watched some of the other games and then called it a night," continued Rudolph. "The next morning we got up and had breakfast with coach Gundy and coach Yurcich and then left to head home. It was a great trip."
Rudolph will be back later, following his season, to make an official recruiting visit with his parents. He is planning to be a mid-term enrollee.
Last week Northwestern defeated Fort Mill 42-20 on Friday night before Mason and his grandpa left for the trip to Stillwater. Rudolph threw a 30-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring for the Trojans and he now has 26 touchdown passes on the season and just two interceptions.
He is a candidate for Mr. Football in South Carolina, and he's looking forward to Friday night's showdown between the two undefeated teams.
"It will be a good one for sure," said Rudolph. "If we play our game and execute, we will be fine."
