Cowboys Arrive In Houston

HOUSTON -- The Oklahoma State Cowboys arrived in Houston around 3:30 p.m. Friday following a slightly bumpy three and a half hour charter flight from Stillwater Municipal Airport to Hobby in Houston.

The buses carrying the OSU travel party passed right by Reliant Stadium on the way to the team's headquarter hotel. Upon arriving at the hotel the Cowboys found a circus atmosphere similar to a bowl game with fans greeting them at the hotel lobby and souvenirs for the game being sold in the lobby.

Head coach Mike Gundy and his staff brought somewhere around 75 players for the game. There did not appear to be any surprises as to which players made the trip.

The team had a meeting once reaching the hotel and then had time to relax before a 6 p.m. dinner. The players took part in a walk-through back in Stillwater before departing.

With plenty of football on television tonight, including two Big 12 rivals (Texas Tech at SMU and then two-time defending FCS champion North Dakota State at Kansas State), the players will get time to spend in their rooms relaxing and watching football, very similar to what they do on Saturdays when waiting to leave for the stadium.

There will be no time for football watching Saturday, except for a little ESPN Game Day as they will leave in order to arrive at the stadium around 12:30 p.m.

Unfortunately, the OSU coaches cannot travel to see any high school games as the next evaluation period does not begin until Sunday. It's unfortunate in that a lot of OSU committed players and prospects for the 2014 recruiting class are in action in the Houston area tonight.

The Oklahoma State players are hoping for a good night's sleep and rest prior to a strong season-opening performance at Reliant Stadium. Recommended Stories
