Lagow announced his departure from UConn to Oklahoma State via Twitter after he had contacted Oklahoma State football to see if he could join the program. Lagow will walk on and join scholarship quarterbacks Clint Chelf (senior), J.W. Walsh (sophomore) and fellow walk-ons Daxx Garman (sophomore) and Jake Hubenak (freshman).
Lagow was a freshman at UConn, and had only been there a very short time. He is quoted by several outlets as saying he is transferring to Oklahoma State to get closer to family.
At Plano, Lagow quarterbacked the Wildcats to a 5-6 record his senior season completing 59 percent of his passes (109-of-183) for 1,986 yards with 8 touchdowns and 6 interceptions. As a junior, he completed 56 percent of his passes (122-of-215) for 1,646 yards with 13 touchdowns and 6 interceptions.
Unless a waiver is sought and granted, Lagow is subject to the NCAA transfer rules and must sit out this season before being eligible at Oklahoma State.
The Cowboys have one of the top quarterback prospects in the nation in Mason Rudolph out of Rock Hill (Northwestern), S.C., committed in their 2014 recruiting class. Rudolph and his Northwestern teammates open the season on ESPN3 on the internet against Gaffney High School on Friday night.
