By signing Colby Hegwood to a financial aid agreement that binds the school to have a scholarship available. But is not binding for Hegwood until he attends class, which he should for the first summer school session.
We first reported that Hegwood was in Stillwater to attend the spring football finale on April 20.
The 6-6, 317-pound Hegwood was not an academic casualty a year ago coming out of Flowood (Northwest Rankin), Miss. He was not widely recruited and attended Pearl River Community College. They were expecting him to play one more season and most sites listed him as a 2014 recruit. But OSU and Wickline knew he could transfer immediately, and needing an offensive lineman and having a scholarship got it done.
Some Cowboys fans have been comparing him to former Cowboys offensive lineman Levy Adcock, who arrived in Stillwater after one season at NEO A&M. It is exactly the same situation with Hegwood.
Now it's just getting to the start of summer school and getting him on campus, which judging by the Twitter message should not be a problem.
