What about Oklahoma State first caught your eye?
Hughes: I’ve been thinking about OSU for a long time. They just stuck with me every day, even when the coaches weren’t there. They’ve been sticking with me through thick and thin. They’ve been constantly wanting me to go there.
What was your deciding factor in committing to the Cowboys?
Hughes: I really liked the coaches.
What are three words or phrases that describe you as a person?
Hughes: Energetic, focused and humble.
What are three words or phrases that describe you as a football player?
Hughes: I really only need one: go-getter. Even when I’m in a tough situation, I go get it.
What is your favorite thing to do on the football field?
Hughes: Going after the quarterback and the running back, and celebrating with teammates after we score a touchdown or get a sack.
What is your favorite thing to do off the football field?
Hughes: Working out.
If you don’t go on to play in the NFL, what would you like to do?
Hughes: I’ll get my bachelor’s degree in history and become a teacher. I’m also interested in geology and music.
What are you most looking forward to in terms of playing for Oklahoma State?
Hughes: Working with my teammates and coaches.
What do you feel will be your biggest challenge in moving from high school to college?
Hughes: The workouts will be tougher.
Who is the one player on Oklahoma State’s roster, or in your recruiting class, that you are most excited to be teammates with next season?
Hughes: Really the whole recruiting class. During my visit, I really got close to a couple of the guys.
