Devon Thomas Makes Switch To OSU

One of the true prizes in Oklahoma for the upcoming 2014 class is Broken Arrow running back Devon Thomas. The 5-11, 190-pound speedster committed to Oklahoma a few weeks ago, but just within the last week decommitted as he was quoted that he acted too fast. Thomas didn't waste much time in acting again on his recruiting status.

"I've committed to OSU," said Thomas early Saturday afternoon. "I committed to Coach (Jemal) Singleton.

"It's the environment and it is all I can ask for," continued Thomas in his explanation for his move to Oklahoma State. "I want to run the rock, and it is a great school and a good fit for me. I want to give Coach Singleton another thousand-yard rusher."

As a sophomore, Thomas finished with 1,840 rushing yards and 22 touchdowns and averaged a very hefty 9.2 yard per carry. He achieved the recruiting status of one of the top prospects in that class both state, regional, and national.

Then he missed most of his junior season for still unknown reasons. Thomas runs track and has been very successful in that sport as well as football. He also said he is anxious for next football season with the Broken Arrow Tigers.

"Honestly, I can't wait for next season, and it is going to be something you won't want to miss," he said with conviction in his voice. "I am working as hard as anyone could to make next season special."

Thomas is the first known commitment for Oklahoma State in the 2014 class, and it probably will make many Oklahoma State fans happy that the first pledge for 2014 comes from an in-state prospect.
