Round one playoff action wrapped up last night with a couple of Saturday games in New Orleans. Class 5A top-seed Archbishop Rummel had its way with the No. 32 Lafayette Lions in a one-sided (49-7) affair. Also, No. 21 Port Allen and four-star Texas A&M commit Darian Claiborne took McMain out of the equation in 3A with a 22-14 victory over the No. 12 Mustangs.

Darian Claiborne does it all on the prep level. The four-star linebacker is also Port Allen's starting quarterback. He intercepted a pass yesterday as Port Allen advanced to the 3A second round where the Pelicans host No. 5 Livonia. In the preseason, Port Allen was ranked No. 3 in the state.
