Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy flew to Colorado to see Cowboys quarterback commit Luke Del Rio play Thursday night. But Gundy didn't get to see Del Rio for long as his Valor Christian team hammered Parker Legend 51-0. With OSU having a bye week the Cowboys will use this weekend to send their coaches on the road. Gundy traveled to the Tulsa area on Friday to catch the Broken Arrow-Muskogee game.

The Cowboys head coach will see several talented players at BA, including Preston Soper, a highly regarded kicker from Muskogee who made an unofficial visit last Saturday for the Cowboys win over Louisiana.

The rest of the Oklahoma State staff is fanning out to watch both committed players and players that Oklahoma State is still actively recruiting. The goal is to see all the committed players on either this weekend or the bye week following the Texas game.

Doug Meacham is in the Dallas-area to see Tyler (John Tyler) wide receiver Fred Ross (first player to commit in the 2013 class) in a game at Mesquite (Horn).

We think that offensive coordinator Todd Monken may be the coach that elite national wide receiver prospect LaQuon Treadwell was tweeting would be at his Crete-Monee game Friday night. Monken knows has way around as an Illinois native. Treadwell has also declared that he will be making an official visit to Oklahoma State.

Another prospect that the Cowboys might be looking in on is wide receiver Jordan Cunningham of Davie (University School of Nova), Fla. The 6-1, 175-pound speedy Cunningham is making an official visit to Stillwater for the Texas game. He and his teammates play Friday night against Treasure Coast High School at Port Saint Lucie, Fla.

Del Rio, the Elite 11 quarterback who committed to Oklahoma State this summer, only played for a little bit in the blowout over Parker (Legend), Colo. completing 7 of 12 passes for 72 yards and a touchdown.

Valor Christian is now 2-2 and coming off two straight wins, including Thursday night and a 42-0 win last week over Littleton (Heritage), Colo., in which Del Rio played with a cast on his non-throwing hand.

He suffered the broken hand in a 21-20 overtime loss to Bingham, Utah. Del Rio's team opened the season in a nationally televised game on ESPN3 as they lost a 14-13 battle to fellow Colorado high school powerhouse Denver (Bishop Mullen).

Del Rio, the son of former Jacksonville Jaguars head coach and current Denver Broncos defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio, has completed 58 of 97 passes this season for a 60 percent completion rate and 635 yards. He has thrown for four touchdowns with just one interception.

Monken coached three years on Del Rio's staff at Jacksonville and forged a very good relationship with Luke.

We will have our usual coverage on how Del Rio fares and how the other committed players and top prospects do this weekend.
