When I went to the (Oklahoma State) camp, I worked all week with Coach
Gundy and the receivers coach. I was really impressed with the way they coached.
They were telling me what I need to work on and what I need to do, and Coach
Gundy really helped me out a lot as far as instruction goes. He knows his stuff
and I enjoyed listening to him.
After the camp, I went into Coach Miles office and he said
that he would stop recruiting other quarterbacks if I would sign, because they
would have exactly what they wanted. He was pretty straight with
me.
As far as the current quarterbacks go, I have never seen Donovan Woods
play, but I have seen Josh Fields and I like the way he plays. He is not a big
quarterback, he isn’t nearly as big as me, but I really like his style. He goes out there and plays like he is
the biggest guy on the field even though he isn’t. It shows that he has a big
heart and I feel like I can learn from that.
I have paid attention to the great receivers at Oklahoma State, because
they have a lot of them. I have been blessed with a corp of good receivers
lately, but we didn’t have five or six – we only have three or four. We still
got the job done though, and that is something I want to be able to
continue.
Georgia and Oklahoma State are pretty much even in my mind. But, I
haven’t went out to Georgia’s camp. It is kinda hard to know a lot about a
school just from watching TV and reading the letters the coaches send you. I
have kinda decided on my five (official visits), but it isn’t exactly carved in
stone. I can tell you that of the two or three that I do know, Oklahoma State is
definitely one of them. But, like I said, Georgia is up there too, and I have to
really look at them more before I have a definite idea of what I want to
do.
All this is really my decision, but my mom is really great. She is
keeping me on the ground and keeping everything in check. I really tend to get
overwhelmed with all this stuff, but she is taking care of all of that side for
me. She puts restrictions on the things that need it and really helps me out by
making sure everything is smooth, and I don’t get overwhelmed by all that is
going on right now. She makes sure I keep my feet on the ground. Actually, I got
to go cut the grass in a minute.
This past month of June has been really hard, I go to summer school from
8 to 2:30 every day which is really tough because I only have thirty minutes to
get to the other campus to start lifting weights from 3-6. Summer school just
ended this last week, which is good because now I can go to the morning
(lifting) session from 8-11. It has just been really busy because I have to
really prepare myself for the upcoming season, and that is my main
focus.
