Shepard Getting His Recruiting Feet Wet

The hero on the field in Heritage Hall's Class 3A state championship just a week ago over Kingfisher was speedy athlete Sterling Shepard. The do-it-all type of player for the Chargers scored four rushing touchdowns in the second half to complete a comeback after being down 14-0 at halftime to the Yellow Jackets.

Shepard finished the game with 17 carries for 197 yards and it was his 38-yard touchdown run with less than a minute left that sealed the 28-21 win. He is pretty humble about it. "It was a great win and all of our guys had been working their tails off all season long," said Shepard. "It was certainly a team championship and it is a great feeling, a great feeling to have helped my guys get it... Recommended Stories
