Arizona (+4.5) vs Oklahoma St
This is an interesting game. Both teams can put loads of points on the board, and neither has been consistently good at playing defense (though both have had some good moments). Now that this is the new Pac-10 #2 vs Big 12 #3 game, something tells me the Holiday Bowl “always pick the upset” tradition should continue. Arizona has clearly struggled of late, but they’re still a very good team with a very good quarterback, that can beat almost anyone when they get hot. With about a month to let the Territorial Cup loss to ASU fester, something tells me the Wildcats are going to bring their “A” game, while I suspect the Cowboys won’t, given that this is a downgrade from last year’s Cotton Bowl trip, and that they’ll know full well have Arizona struggled late this year and got demolished by Nebraska in last year’s bowl game. And since I don’t think that the Cowboys are really that much better than Arizona, that motivational edge should prove to be the difference.

Washington (+14) vs Nebraska
It’s the Holiday Bowl, so pick the underdog, right? Well, probably not this time. The Huskers are the better team, by a pretty solid amount, so there’s little reason to think they blow this one. Still, Washington won at USC, blasted Syracuse (who’s halfway decent) and ended the year on a solid streak, so there’s hope. It’s a bowl game, so you never know, but realistically the Huskies should make a game of it, but probably won’t pull out the win.
